Andrew Robinson recently set a new New Zealand record of 211.83 mph at the NZ Nationals with this model.

Thunder Child was built from a Dick Hart produced Blue Thunder 2 kit and is powered by a Jet Bill Capinjola JB2 pulse jet. The model has been very reliable and pretty quick so far with a best official speed of 183mph. Great fun to fly!

The Phunder Phart is a larger wing and tail area version of the Phire Phart that I previously flew. Dyna-Jet engine fitted.

Barton Minx Club Speed model. PAW 09 powered. Grooves really nicely but made of Bass wood and a bit heavy to go real quick. Harry and Geoff Walkers lighter versions have gone 90mph+ in very windy conditions. Was inspired by the 'Pink Lady'

The Millenium Falcon ( pictured here during a 2007 test flight ) held the UK 60 Speed Record at over 211mph.. Very impressive to watch.. ( It did 197mph during this 2007 test flight with a less than perfect propeller fitted )

F 40 Speed Model built by combat flyer Peter Grange back in 1978. Best speed 155mph.

Geoff and Harry Walker's Speedwagon 29B, Dooling 29 powered.

Mercury Midge, Elfin 1.49 Ivor F. repro
Built by prolific & expert builder Ian Smith, Newcastle NSW, born in Stocktonn-on-Tees, 1935, moved to Australia 1963

Proto Speed is an official Australian speed class designed to use Class 2 (Modern B) team racers. The models are timed for 14 laps from a standing start. The pilot must have his hand in the pylon within two laps for the flight time to count.
These models are flown to obtain a percentage of the current class speed record.
This formula can be extended at a club level and the Golden model is for Vintage Proto, the Blue model in Class 2 Proto and the Red model in Classic B Proto.

3 Midges, Snowflake and Weatherman.
This model was built by Melbourne modeller Vern Marquet because he liked it. He regularly attends the local speed comps and flys the model in the Vintage Proto Class (Launched from a standing start and timed over 14 laps)
One of my ghoul pics - taken at 3 Sisters, Ken Morrisey lost control at around 200 mph - the crash was awesome!
